Hatteras Yachts used the 2020 Miami Yacht Show for the premiere of the GT65 Carolina, a sportfisher with reported top speeds of more than 40 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

\u201cI picked an exciting time to join the Hatteras team with the launch of this groundbreaking new yacht,\u201d Gary Smith, Hatteras CEO, stated in a press release. \u201cMy second day in the office, I met with Chris Jessen, soon-to-be owner of the first GT65 Carolina along with his wife, Laura. The Jessens, who have an elite tournament fishing team, were great partners with Hatteras in developing this new sportfish model.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Hatteras used computational fluid dynamics for a new hull and tunnel design on the GT65 Carolina. The hull and stringer system are infused as a single part to reduce weight and increase strength. The boat also has a new engine-room layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Standard power is twin 1,622-bhp Caterpillar C32A diesels; options include twin 1,800-bhp and 1,900-bhp Cats. Twin Seakeeper 9 stabilizers add comfort on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Four staterooms and three heads are part of the layout. The galley can have an island or peninsula counter. Aft is the cockpit with mezzanine seating, optional air conditioning and fish-ready features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
