Sea Ray<\/a> just launched its SLX 260 and SLX 260 Outboard<\/a>, the company\u2019s first boat designed by an all-women design team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis launch not only sets a new benchmark for design but further celebrates the advantages that a diverse workforce brings to the marine industry,\u201d Aine Denari, Brunswick Boat Group president, stated in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design team was led by Sea Ray Senior Design Manager Carrie Fodor and Brunswick Boat Group Senior Industrial Designer Kristin McGinnis. Fodor grew up boating on the Great Lakes and has been with the company since 2008. McGinnis earned a design degree and did an internship with Brunswick Boat Group brands Sea Ray and Boston Whaler<\/a> before being hired in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis SLX 260 project has been a long time in the making, and I\u2019m so excited to finally be able to share this new boat with the world,\u201d Fodor stated in the release. \u201cFor any woman or minority that didn\u2019t realize a career in the marine industry or the ability to design a boat was an option, this is proof that you can do something great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of power does the SLX 260 have?<\/strong> The outboard version comes with a 300-horsepower Mercury Verado. The sterndrive version has a 300-horsepower MerCruiser 6.2L MPI ECT Bravo Three with DTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
